About Muldaur Media

Muldaur Media is an independent production company that was formed in 2002 by Maureen Muldaur, a producer of many hours of non-fiction/documentary television. Muldaur Media’s first project, Smothered, is the winner of a 2002 CINE Golden Eagle Award.

Maureen is currently directing, producing and writing for a new web series. The series is entitled "Sanatione: A Time for Healing". The series involves filmmakers from every corner of the globe. Maureen began Muldaur Media Ltd. by gaining the rights to make Smothered via an exclusive deal with the Smothers Brothers.

Maureen is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts Film School where she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Her documentary career began as a Production Assistant on numerous National Geographic Specials. In the late 1980s, she was Associate Producer for two PBS Infinite Voyage Specials (Life in the Balance and To the Ends of the Earth) and an episode of ABC’s World of Discovery series (The Secret Life of 118 Green Street).

Subsequently, she was involved in two 26-part PBS series: Earth Revealed (Field Producer/Director and Writer, 1992) and Crossroads Café (Line Producer, 1996). In 1997, she wrote, produced and directed a two-hour History Channel Special, Crimes in Time, and the following year worked in the same capacity on another History Channel series, Haunted History. She was co-producer of the 1998 TLC show Superstructures: The Panama Canal.

Prior to Smothered, Maureen spent three years as a producer at E! Entertainment/style. Television. 

Early in 2004, Muldaur Media contracted with A&E Television to produce a one-hour Biography of Rob Reiner that premiered in December of 2004.  Maureen wrote, produced, and directed the show, including interviewing numerous celebrities.

Beginning in 2003, and continuing until the present, Muldaur Media has completed many Electronic Press Kits (EPKs) for Warner Bros. Home Video Publicity Division.  All of the EPKs are made for WB franchise shows, mainly television DVD releases.  They include:

In 2007, Maureen was a field producer and director for Survive This, a Discovery Network Series. 2008 and 2009 were spent consulting for a post-production media company as well as continuing the production of EPKs for Warner Bros. The Eye of the Storm is in development as of 2010 (see "In Production"). In the Fall of 2010 and the Spring of 2011, Maureen worked as a producer for the Lifetime series Vanished with Beth Holloway.

In 2014, Maureen was accepted into the Women in Film (WIF) PSA Program. She produced a PSA for the Santa Monica Museum of Art. The PSA was nominated for a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award.
